    Quite Awesome indeed.

So this time around they I guess are now doing flash sideways. Basically flashing to a different alternative timeline same characters different storyline. I’m guessing the bomb mixed with the crazy energy of the island created the new timeline which sunked the island but because of the time properties of the island it still protected the current timeline. Maybe when Juliet died she can see the overall picture and thats why she said it worked.

I did find it odd that jin wasn’t concern about bringing them to the hole in the wall of the temple even with what happened to the french team that went inside. Kudos for them showing the body with no arm.

One of my favorite moments was the reveal of old smokey with Flocke saying to Ben I didn’t want you to see me that way. When Bram did the circle of Ash it seem to keep it out but good old smokey is one smart killer. That leads me to the question of the cabin. The ash around the cabin was to keep him in or keep him out. We know the ash circle around the cabin was broken but the question was when. Smokey has been around the island for a long time. And its still unclear if Flocke is smokey or that he can control smokey like rumored how he can control dead people.

The other best reveal was the interaction of Richard and Flocke. Its clear that Flocke hates Richard as much as he hates Jacob. They seem to be pointing to the fact he was on the ship in the beginning of the episode of the season 5 finale. If thats the case, remember Jacob and the nemesis see the ship arrive and I’m guessing thats where Richard meets him so when he referred back to that event Richard knew who he was and thats why Flocke took him out. It’s clear that he just doesn’t want to kill everyone but wants to achive a goal and is probably going to use the people of the island to do it.

MVP of the episode is clearly new comer Flocke. He’s coming to be like Ben who is a bad guy you love to watch.

Mystery to walk away with. Flocke says to Richard he just wants to go home. Thats his game plan. Exactly where does he come from. Does he come from a different timeline maybe, is he the anti-Jacob in this timelime like black and white, or maybe heck is he a different version of jacob from a different timeline that got sucked into this timeline.

Hey Anna & Denise (& Colin if you read this)

Listening now – good discussion – thanks!

RE: why doesn’t the plane go down in the alterna-timeline?
I imagine the bomb somehow negated the pocket of energy in 1977, so there wouldn’t be any energy to contain (thus no swan station or button). The thing that starts baking my cake is that the AFTERMATH/consequences of the bomb going off seem to only exist in the alternatimeline (i.e. the Losties lives being re-set and the island underwater), whereas, the effect on the on-island versions of the Losties seem to only be that they got catapulted into 2007 (not that that’s any small feat – lol)

Did anyone else have Karate Kid flashbacks when the guy in the temple started trimming his banzaii plants? I’m hopelessly stuck in the 80s I know :/

    Hey guys,

    Sweet episode.

I think the most significant event in this episode was Saiyd’s resurrection. Richard and Ben were amazed when they believed Locke had been brought back to life. They believed there was no coming back from death and they were right. So why did it happen this time?

Before Jacob’s death the healing spring was clear. Afterward it turned dark. Whatever power Jacob had over the island is gone and was given to Smokie. Under Jacob someone went into a clear spring and came out alive and healed. Under Smokie someone goes into a dark spring and comes out dead then is resurrected and healed. Its like some kind of evil baptism. I believe under Jacob “dead is dead” but Smokie isn’t bound by those rules.

We all know how much the Smoke Monster loves dead people. Saiyd will now be working for Smokie. The same sickness that happened to Rousseau’s team is now affecting him. The same goes for Christian Shepard and Claire.

I think Sawyer will also join Team Smokie. He has hit rock bottom after losing Juliet. He will be easily swayed to the dark side by Flocke. Sawyer has nothing left to live for except making Jack’s life miserable. They might even get Miles and Jin to sign up. Those guys are a tight unit.

Team Flock vs Team Jacob. Should be exciting.

Also why are the Temple Others so rude to the losties? Even after finding out they were sent by Jacob the Others were still pointing guns at them. I guess a letter of recommendation from their leader/God isn’t good enough.

I’m going to keep this short and sweet. When Flocke said he wanted to go home, I was left wondering what he meant. Later, I stumbled upon a not-so-crackpot theory I attribute to my father. I’m thinking the island is a space ship that has been marooned on earth for a very long time. Flocke and Jacob are lost. Jacob was like Locke who wanted to stay while Flocke is like Jack who was focused on going home. I know it sounds a little X-Files-like, but that’s what I’m thinking. I’ll leave my Body Snatchers theory for a later date when I can explain it without confusion.

yes, lost is back and as expected the epic nature of the story unfolds in complex and maddening ways, so we have multiple timelines which i actually am very interested, it is interesting to see what would have happened to these characters who we have come to love, loathe, root for and see grow over these 5 seasons if the plane did not crash, seeing the subtle differences like jack bgeing the one scared and rose conforting him(great to see rose and bernard together on the plane) and cindy giving jack one bottle of vodka instead of two, the most amazing thing to me was seeing desmond and wondering if the two realities and bleeding in together (jack’s neck wound is another example) , the island is another thing entirely with us finally seeing the temple and another group of others who seem different from the others we have seen before but i think these are a combination of what we have seen before and the guardians of the temple who was are now seein g for the first time and wow again lost creates a intriguing new characters, richard alpert for me has finally been confirmed as one of the slaves from the black rock and i really want to know where man in black homes. i know some people find the litlle things like seeing boone and charlie fustrating but likewatching the dharma shark, i am kinda of glad that the writes send out these shout outs to us the fans , it was not perfect but it made the wait worth it

yes Anna , lost is back and as expected the epic nature of the story unfolds in complex and maddening ways, so we have an alternativetimeline which i actually am very interested in , it is interesting to see what would have happened to these characters who we have invested our love, loathing , characters we root for and whom we have see growth over these 5 seasons and what would happen if the plane did not crash, seeing the subtle differences like jack being the one scared and rose conforting him instead of the other way around (great to see rose and bernard together on the plane) and cindy giving jack one bottle of vodka instead of two, the most amazing thing to me was seeing desmond and wondering if the two realities are bleeding through together (jack’s neck wound is another fine example) and even more interestingly is which timeline is the real one, the island story is another thing entirely with us finally seeing the temple and another group of others who seem different from the others we have seen before but i think these are a combination of what we have seen before and the guardians of the temple who was are now seein g for the first time and wow again lost creates a intriguing new set of characters, richard alpert for me has finally been confirmed as one of the slaves from the black rock and i really want to know where the man in black (whom is confirmed as the smoke monster )calls homes. i know some people find the litlle things like seeing boone and charlie fustrating but like watching the dharma shark, i am kinda of glad that the writers send out these shout outs to us the fans , it was not a perfect episode and it opened up a slew of questions but it made the wait worth it. yipee Lost is backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
